Estimate HVAC loads, airflow, psychrometric states, refrigeration conditions, heat-transfer effects, and thermal comfort for an engineering review.

A credible HVAC review starts by making the load picture explicit. Estimate cooling and heating separately, then split sensible and latent effects so later airflow and humidity checks are anchored to the same assumptions. If an air-handling unit or packaged system is being screened, keep the available capacity in view instead of treating the room load as the only controlling number.
Once the demand is framed, convert it into ventilation and supply airflow targets. Compare outside-air requirements, room air changes, and duct velocity constraints before assuming the system can actually move the required air. Psychrometric and dew-point checks then show whether the target condition is realistic, whether moisture removal is aligned with the load split, and whether the review is drifting toward condensation or comfort problems.
Refrigeration checks help explain why a system misses a target. Pressure-temperature relationships, condensing conditions, and COP or EER trends can reveal whether the problem sits in the cycle, the airflow path, or the design assumptions. Finish by reviewing heat-transfer terms and PMV under the stated conditions, and state plainly that these calculations support engineering review only; they do not replace qualified design, code compliance, manufacturer selection, or safety review.

Translate occupancy and air-change requirements into comparable airflow units, then check whether the proposed duct path and supply strategy can reasonably move that air.
