Are my AI files uploaded?

No. Files you open from your device stay on your device and are parsed locally. Nothing is sent to the server.

Can the viewer render all AI features?

The viewer focuses on rendering the embedded PDF preview stream, which contains the flattened visual output. Complex Illustrator-specific features (live effects, symbols, brushes) may not be fully represented in the preview.

AI (.ai, Adobe Illustrator Artwork) is the native vector graphics format of Adobe Illustrator, the industry-standard vector design application. Since Illustrator CS (2003), AI files are PDF-compatible — they contain a standard PDF stream for universal compatibility plus an embedded PGF (Progressive Graphics Format) stream for Illustrator-specific data. AI files store resolution-independent vector paths, Bezier curves, gradients, patterns, symbols, artboards, text with full typography, and editable effects.
