1. Preparing a Chapter for ACX Submission
Independent Audiobook NarratorBackground
An author self-recording an audiobook needs to ensure the first chapter meets the strict 0.5-second lead-in and lead-out silence rules required by ACX.
Problem
The raw recording starts and ends too abruptly, risking rejection during the automated ACX validation process.
How to use
Upload the chapter audio file, select 'Generate synthetic (silent)' as the room tone source, set both lead-in and lead-out silence to 0.8 seconds, and select WAV as the output format.
chapter1: chapter_1_raw.wav, toneSource: synthetic, leadInSilence: 0.8, leadOutSilence: 0.8, outputFormat: wavOutcome
An ACX-compliant WAV file with exactly 0.8 seconds of clean silence at the start and end.
