Does creating a JPEG proof replace or edit the original RAW file?

No. The proof is a separate, lightweight delivery copy. Keep the original RAW as the source asset for a non-destructive editor or archive, and use the JPEG to review framing, orientation, visible content, and handoff readiness.

What metadata should I review before sharing a proof?

Review EXIF fields such as capture time, orientation, camera and lens details, GPS location, and any copyright or author information. Whether a field should be removed depends on the recipient and delivery policy; a client preview often needs less metadata than the internal source file.

What if an unfamiliar RAW file does not export?
