Is SVG the master source or a migration target?
Use the SVG tools first when the brand mark is vector-native; use raster-to-SVG tools only when a legacy PNG, JPG, or WebP needs a reviewable vector approximation.

Workflow Playbook
Prepare favicon, app icon, and web icon assets from SVG, PNG, ICO, JPG, and WebP sources with conversion and optimization checks.
Hubs
A favicon is rarely one file anymore. The same mark may appear in a browser tab, pinned shortcut, mobile home screen, CMS preview, Open Graph card, and legacy desktop context. This workflow keeps those outputs tied to one approved source instead of letting each format drift.
Start with svg-favicon-generator when the mark can be created or normalized as SVG. Then inspect and reduce the SVG with svg-minifier-analyzer so hidden metadata, redundant paths, and oversized markup are caught before every downstream export inherits them.
Once the SVG master is accepted, use svg-to-png, svg-to-webp, and svg-to-jpg for the formats your site or publishing system actually needs. Transparency-sensitive icons should be checked on light, dark, and patterned backgrounds, while JPG should only be used when a solid background is intentional.
When the delivery checklist requires ICO or app icon sizes, use png-to-icons, png-to-ico, jpg-to-ico, or webp-to-ico from the reviewed source. For older sites, use ico-to-png, ico-to-jpg, and ico-to-webp to inspect what is already deployed, then use png-to-svg, jpg-to-svg, or webp-to-svg only as a migration aid. The final acceptance check should confirm dimensions, transparency, edge sharpness, and source traceability.
Workflow playbook
Generate the favicon SVG or inspect an existing SVG before export so hidden metadata, oversized paths, and invalid markup do not leak into every derivative asset.
Render the approved SVG into PNG, WebP, or JPG versions for browser previews, CMS uploads, Open Graph fallbacks, and environments that cannot consume SVG directly.
Convert the selected PNG, JPG, or WebP source into ICO and multi-size icon outputs only after the background, transparency, and pixel grid have been checked.
Convert ICO, PNG, JPG, or WebP assets into review formats when auditing an old site, rebuilding a design token set, or comparing what is actually deployed.
Use the SVG tools first when the brand mark is vector-native; use raster-to-SVG tools only when a legacy PNG, JPG, or WebP needs a reviewable vector approximation.
Modern sites often need SVG, PNG, WebP, and ICO together. Choose the smallest set that matches the browser, manifest, CMS, or desktop shortcut target.
Conversion success is not enough. Inspect 16, 32, 48, 180, and 512 pixel outputs for edge blur, lost transparency, and unreadable details.
