About this file format

SVG (.svg) is a vector image format based on XML, created by the W3C in 2001. Unlike raster formats (PNG, JPG), SVG stores shapes as mathematical paths, lines and curves, so it scales infinitely without quality loss. SVG is the web standard for logos, icons, UI illustrations, diagrams and data visualizations, and supports CSS styling, JavaScript interaction and animation.
