About this file format

.odt (OpenDocument Text) is an open, XML-based standard for word processing documents, maintained by OASIS and standardized as ISO/IEC 26300. It is the native format of LibreOffice Writer and Apache OpenOffice Writer, and can be opened by Google Docs and Microsoft Word. Unlike proprietary formats, it stores text, formatting, tables, and images in an open, interoperable structure.
