Turn a source clip into a short ringtone, preview the cut, and check loudness and silence before moving the file to a device.

Work from a copy of the source and choose the passage that should be heard first. Use the ringtone maker to define the cut and keep the original so you can revise it.
Preview the exported file from its first moment to its last. If the opening is mostly silence or buildup, shorten it; if the lead-in is intentional and the cue starts clearly, keep it. Listen for clicks, clipping, abrupt fades, and a cut-off ending.
Review loudness without treating maximum volume as the goal. Preserve headroom and investigate clipping or an unexpectedly weak level. Then inspect the silence report for unplanned lead-in or tail. Make one focused revision at a time and preview it again.
When the audio passes these checks, transfer the final copy and test it manually on the device. This workflow verifies the audio asset; it does not promise support for a particular phone, operating system, or alert setting.
