Identify likely sensitive information in PDFs, confirm findings page by page, apply human-approved redactions, and record a reviewable external-sharing decision.

This workflow is for an already-created PDF that may be sent to an external audience. Its practical result is a candidate redacted copy plus a page-level review record. Keep the original unchanged, define the disclosure audience, and assign one person to approve the final decision. The workflow reduces exposure risk; it does not promise complete anonymization.
Run pdf-anonymizer-report against the authorized source to surface likely names, email addresses, and phone numbers. Save the report and candidate output, then compare each finding with the rendered source page. Add missed regions and investigate false positives, especially in scans, images, labels, repeated headers, and indirect identifiers.
Once a reviewer confirms a page and region, use pdf-redaction-helper with explicit PDF-point coordinates. Keep the source separate from the candidate copy and record a short reason for each mask. The helper draws opaque areas in the rendered output; it is not a policy engine and it does not decide whether the surrounding context is safe to disclose.
Compare the candidate against the original from the first page to the last. Check visible text, images, annotations, repeated page elements, and any information that could identify a person indirectly. Record missed findings, residual risk, reviewer, audience, and release decision. If anything is ambiguous, hold the file rather than calling it anonymous.

Open the source and candidate views together, check each reported page and region, and add missed sensitive material or reject false positives in the review log. Do not infer that an unreported region is safe.

Review the rendered result page by page against the unchanged source, rerun the candidate check where useful, record residual risk and reviewer sign-off, and release only the accepted copy for the stated audience.

Only carry a finding forward when its page, visible region, and sensitivity are confirmed against the source. Escalate ambiguous matches instead of masking them by assumption.
