## Overview

Bridge an IndieWeb page into the Fediverse — with a **real microformats2 parser** and the W3C protocol checks that real bridges run.

**What it does:**
- **mf2 parse tree**: parses `h-entry` / `h-card` / `h-feed` markup following the microformats2 parsing algorithm — `p-` (value-class, data/input value, img-alt substitution), `u-` (href/src/value precedence, resolved absolute against your base URL), `dt-` (`time[datetime]`), `e-content` (html + value), nested microformats with prefix-derived `value`, implied name/url/photo.
- **Webmention (W3C Rec 2017)**: validates source/target (MUST be URLs, receiver MUST reject source == target), fragment-insensitive target support checks, and discovers `rel=webmention` endpoints in the page.
- **IndieAuth (W3C Rec 2018)**: discovers `rel=authorization_endpoint` / `rel=token_endpoint` and the Micropub/Microsub endpoints; explains the authorization-code + PKCE S256 flow the endpoints implement.
- **Micropub (W3C Rec 2017)**: builds the exact JSON create request (`{type:["h-entry"], properties:{…}}`) for the parsed entry, plus update (replace/add/delete) and delete/undelete action templates.
- **Microsub (IndieWeb draft)**: derives a channel layout for the feed and documents `order=published` vs the default received-order timelines.
- **ActivityPub dual view (W3C Rec 2018)**: emits the AS2 **Object** (Note with `inReplyTo`, `attributedTo`, Public addressing via `as:Public`) and the wrapping **Activity** — `Create`, or `Like`/`Announce` when the entry carries `u-like-of`/`u-repost-of`.
- **Reply-all routing**: for every `in-reply-to` / `like-of` / `repost-of` / `u-syndication` target, emits the notification route — a Webmention to the target's discovered endpoint, plus Bridgy-Fed-style Fediverse bridging suggestions and ActivityPub relay guidance.

**Honesty note:** "Apenode" is *not* a Fediverse/W3C standard — it was the 2015 pre-release name of the Kong API gateway. The real relay concept here is the **ActivityPub relay**: a server that follows actors and re-Announces their activities so new instances can bootstrap federation. The routing output reflects that reality.

## Inputs

- **Page HTML or ActivityPub JSON** (textarea): Paste an h-entry page or an ActivityPub document…
- **Base URL** (text): https://example.com/my-post
- **Source URL (webmention check)** (text): https://source.example/reply
- **Target URL (webmention check)** (text): https://target.example/post

## When to use

- Auditing microformats2 markup (h-entry, h-card, h-feed) on personal websites for standards compliance.
- Testing Webmention, IndieAuth, and Micropub endpoint discovery and payload generation before deployment.
- Converting IndieWeb blog posts, replies, likes, and reposts into ActivityPub Create, Note, Like, and Announce payloads.

## How it works

- Paste HTML containing microformats2 classes or ActivityPub JSON, and optionally specify base, source, and target URLs.
- The parser resolves relative URLs against the base URL, extracts microformats properties (p-*, u-*, dt-*, e-*), and discovers rel endpoints.
- The analyzer validates Webmention constraints, constructs Micropub JSON templates, and generates side-by-side ActivityStreams 2 Object and Activity representations along with reply routing targets.

## Use cases

- IndieWeb site owners validating POSSE (Publish on Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere) and Fediverse federation setups.
- Web developers building Micropub clients, Microsub readers, or custom Webmention receivers.
- Fediverse bridge operators troubleshooting microformats-to-ActivityPub conversion errors.

## Frequently asked questions

### What microformats2 elements does the analyzer parse?

It parses h-entry, h-card, and h-feed classes, resolving text properties (p-*), absolute URLs (u-*), datetime values (dt-*), embedded markup (e-content), and implied values.

### How does the tool handle Webmention validation?

It verifies that source and target parameters are valid URLs, confirms source does not equal target, checks fragment handling, and locates rel=webmention endpoints.

### What ActivityPub objects and activities are generated?

Standard posts produce an AS2 Note wrapped in a Create activity, while entries with u-like-of or u-repost-of produce Like or Announce activities referencing the target object.

### Does the analyzer generate Micropub request payloads?

Yes, it creates exact W3C-compliant JSON create payloads ({type: ["h-entry"], properties: {...}}) as well as update and delete action structures.

### What is reply-all routing?

It maps outbound notifications for every in-reply-to, like-of, repost-of, and u-syndication link found in the entry, specifying Webmention targets and Fediverse bridging paths.
