## Overview

LRC is the de-facto lyrics format of music players: each line starts with a [mm:ss.xx] timestamp in centiseconds and carries no end time, so a converter must synthesise durations — the established convention gives every line the next line’s start as its end, and the final line a fixed duration (3 s by default, configurable), which mirrors how players such as foobar2000, Poweramp and Musicolet hold a line until the next one. This tool implements exactly that, plus the format details that trip up naive converters: ID tags ([ti:] [ar:] [al:] [by:] [length:]…) are separated from lyric lines; the [offset:±ms] tag shifts lyrics globally — positive makes them appear sooner — and is applied (or ignored) on request; a single physical line may carry multiple timestamps ([00:12.00][00:56.10]chorus) and becomes one cue per timestamp, sorted by time; enhanced A2 word-timing tags (<mm:ss.xx>) are stripped from the text (keeping the words); and 2- or 3-digit fractional parts are both accepted. An optional per-cue maximum duration caps cues across long instrumental sections (guitar solos otherwise hold one lyric for the whole gap). In the SRT→LRC direction each cue becomes [mm:ss.xx] plus its text on one line (multi-line cues joined with spaces) using 2-digit centiseconds, the classic player-compatible form. Text is never altered — only timings are translated between the two conventions.

## Inputs

- **Lyrics or subtitles** (textarea): \[00:12.30\]First line of the song \[00:16.80\]Second line… — or paste SRT cues
- **Direction** (select)
- **Last cue duration (ms)** (number): 3000
- **Max cue duration (ms, 0 = off)** (number): 0
- **Apply offset tag** (checkbox)

## When to use

- Converting audio lyric files (.lrc) into subtitle tracks (.srt) for music videos, lyric clips, or video editors.
- Exporting video subtitle cues into classic centisecond LRC format for audio players like foobar2000, Poweramp, or Musicolet.
- Resolving multi-timestamp chorus lines, word-timing tags, or global offset tags when migrating between lyric and subtitle systems.

## How it works

- Paste your raw LRC or SRT text into the input field and select your conversion direction.
- For LRC-to-SRT conversions, set the duration for the final line, optionally enforce a maximum cue duration for instrumental breaks, and choose whether to apply the \[offset:\] tag.
- The converter strips non-lyric metadata tags, resolves repeated-timestamp lines, strips enhanced word-level tags, and translates centisecond timestamps to millisecond ranges or vice versa.
- Copy the cleanly formatted output text directly for use in your video editor or music library.

## Use cases

- Music video editors importing synced song lyrics into video editing timelines as native subtitle blocks.
- Audiophiles converting subtitle tracks from live concert recordings into taggable LRC files for mobile music players.
- Content creators adapting karaoke lyrics and standardizing offset-adjusted text across media playback software.

## Frequently asked questions

### How does the tool calculate end times for LRC lines in SRT format?

Since LRC files specify only start times, each line's end time is set to the start of the following line, while the final line uses your specified duration.

### How are LRC lines with multiple timestamps handled?

A single line containing several timestamps (such as repeated chorus cues) expands into separate subtitle cues, automatically sorted in chronological order.

### What does the maximum cue duration setting do?

It limits how long a subtitle cue can remain on screen, preventing lyrics from lingering throughout long instrumental solos or extended pauses.

### How does the converter treat enhanced LRC word-timing tags?

It strips out enhanced inline timing tags (such as ) while preserving the textual lyrics intact.

### How are multi-line SRT subtitle blocks converted to LRC?

Multi-line cues from an SRT block are joined into a single text line with spaces, paired with a standard [mm:ss.xx] centisecond timestamp.
