## Overview

Find English and Chinese stock phrases, repeated openings, recurring phrases and monotonous sentence lengths, with evidence and editing prompts—not an authorship verdict.

CV = population standard deviation / mean sentence length, computed separately for word units and Han-character + word units. A CV below 0.18 after at least six sentences is only an editorial heuristic. Openings repeat in at least three sentences; phrases repeat in three distinct sentences (four words or six Han characters). Academic mode tolerates isolated connectors. Markup exclusions are a bounded heuristic, not a complete Markdown parser.

Editorial suggestions, not evidence of AI authorship. Human writing may match these patterns; generated writing may not. No AI probability, accuracy guarantee or detection-bypass claim is provided.

Lexicons cover English and Chinese only. Script-based sentence units are not language identification. A missing match is not a certificate of human authorship or good writing.

Local rules run on this site’s backend, with no third-party AI call or model download. This is not browser-only processing. Downloads include your original text; share them carefully.

## Inputs

- **Text to review** (textarea)
- **Lexicon language** (select)
- **Writing context** (select)
- **Exclude Markdown code, blockquotes and URLs** (checkbox)
- **Literal allowlist (one phrase per line)** (textarea)

## When to use

- Reviewing drafts to eliminate repetitive sentence openings and formulaic transition words.
- Checking cadence and sentence length variation across paragraphs before publishing marketing or product copy.
- Auditing academic or business manuscripts for recurring four-word phrases or six-Han-character patterns.

## How it works

- Paste your draft into the text review area and specify the target lexicon language (English, Chinese, or auto-detect).
- Select your writing context (General, Academic, or Business) and toggle Markdown exclusions or define literal allowlisted terms.
- The backend analyzes sentence length coefficient of variation (CV), repeated openings across three or more sentences, and localized stock phrases.
- Receive a structured HTML report displaying flagged pattern locations, statistical cadence metrics, and targeted editing prompts.

## Use cases

- Refining promotional launch copy by catching overused buzzwords and identical paragraph openers.
- Polishing academic papers by identifying repetitive transitions while tolerating conventional formal connectors.
- Screening bilingual English-Chinese documentation for mechanical pacing and recurring multi-character idioms.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does this tool score whether text was generated by AI?

No. It provides stylistic editorial prompts and pattern evidence, not an authorship verdict, AI probability score, or detection-bypass guarantee.

### Which languages are supported by the linting rules?

The pattern matching lexicons support English and Chinese. Sentence units are measured using word units and Han-character plus word units.

### How is sentence rhythm uniformity calculated?

It evaluates the coefficient of variation (CV = population standard deviation / mean sentence length). A CV below 0.18 over six or more sentences triggers a rhythm note.

### Can I prevent technical terms or brand names from being flagged?

Yes. Add exact terms to the literal allowlist box, with one phrase per line, to bypass pattern flags for industry jargon.

### Does the linter send my writing to third-party AI APIs?

No. The checks execute deterministic backend rules without calling external AI models or downloading third-party machine learning weights.
