# PDF Page Assembly and Print Preparation

Take any pile of PDF pages to a clean, printable document — straighten orientation and trim scan edges, delete or extract the pages that matter, unify every page to one paper size, choose color or grayscale for the printer, then add a cover and impose a booklet when the job is bound.

## Frequently asked questions

### My scan is slightly skewed, not sideways — is that rotation?

No — rotation handles quarter-turn mistakes of 90, 180, or 270 degrees. A slight skew from the scanner glass is deskew work, which belongs to the archival cleanup workflow along with denoising; straighten those scans first, then bring them here for assembly.

### How do I choose between deleting and extracting?

Count what survives. If you are removing a handful of pages from a document that mostly stays, delete them in place. If you are keeping a handful from a document that mostly goes, extract those pages to a new file — the shorter edit wins because fewer operations mean fewer chances to misnumber a page.

### Why does mixed paper size ruin printing?

The printer driver scales each page to the sheet it thinks it is on, so a Letter page inside an A4 document prints smaller or larger than its neighbors and margins wander page to page. Normalizing every page to one size before printing removes the guesswork the driver would otherwise do badly.

### What does booklet imposition actually change?

Only the printing order. The same pages, at the same sizes, are rearranged so that duplex printing and one fold produce a little bound volume — sheet one carries the cover beside the final page, and so on inward. If the output will not be folded, imposition makes the document harder, not easier, to read.
