## Frequently asked questions

### Does this generate an SBOM from installed packages?

No. Supply an externally generated SBOM tied to the actual build. Manifest declarations and a supported lockfile tree alone do not prove what the distributed artifact contains.

### Does a passing report mean the release is legally compliant?

No. It reports the configured policy against supplied metadata. Complete license texts, notices, distribution obligations and exceptions still need qualified review; vulnerabilities are outside this workflow.

### Can I check a version range with the SemVer validator?

Use it for a concrete version such as 2.4.3. A declaration such as ^2.4.0, workspace reference, Git reference or registry tag needs its own resolution context, not a forced rewrite.

### Does saving SARIF automatically block CI?

No. The tool produces report text. CI ingestion, retention and a failing gate must be implemented and tested separately; keep the raw report and policy revision.
